* ARM: remove armlinux_set_bootparams() calls from boardsSascha Hauer2014-01-061-2/+0
| | | | | | | As the place for the atags now is determined automatically the call from the boards can be removed. Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
* Set model and hostname at boardlevelSascha Hauer2013-08-161-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | With multiboard support the compiletime generated BOARDINFO string gets more and more meaningless. This removes it from Kconfig and replaces it with a variable that can be set at boardlevel. Also many boards have a standard setting for the hostname in the environment. This patch also moves the standard to C code by calling barebox_set_hostname(). Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
* include asm/sections.h instead of asm-generic/sections.hSascha Hauer2013-03-101-1/+1
| | | | | | To let the architectures override asm-generic/sections.h Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
* Treewide: remove address of the Free Software FoundationSascha Hauer2012-09-171-4/+0
| | | | | | | The FSF address has changed in the past. Instead of updating it each time the address changes, just drop it completely treewide. Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
* ARM s3c boards: Do not hardcode image sizesSascha Hauer2012-08-121-7/+0
| | | | | | | | | | The existing nand_boot functions all do the same, so move it to a common place. To be flexible enough for future boards the real image size is used instead of hardcoded 256k. * ARM boards: Use _text rather than TEXT_BASESascha Hauer2012-07-231-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | With compressed image support TEXT_BASE will become the base address of the uncompressed image. What the boards want instead is the base address of the decompressor code or, if not compressed, the base address of the uncompressed image. Use _text which is the correct one for both cases. * ARM/Samsung: unify device registration for the S3C24XX SoCsJuergen Beisert2012-07-201-4/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | Barebox crashes since it has trouble with a resource size of 0. Most of the S3C24XX based platforms crashes at runtime and can't use devices with resource sizes of 0 anymore. This patch fix it by unifying the device registration for all current Barebox's S3C24XX based platforms. - A9M2410 and A9M2440 compile time tested only. - Mini2440 also runtime tested. Signed-off-by: Juergen Beisert <jbe@pengutronix.de>

* MACH SAMSUNG/S3C: Re-work the GPIO handling for S3C24xx CPUsJuergen Beisert2012-01-021-20/+21
| | | | | | | | | a) use the more CPU specific S3C* macro names b) move the register description out of the way, as more recent CPUs using a different layout and more features Signed-off-by: Juergen Beisert <jbe@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
* MACH SAMSUNG/S3C: Re-work the memory detection and handlingJuergen Beisert2012-01-021-35/+12
| | | | | | | | Keep common code in the MACH instead of re-inventing it in each platform. Also use S3C* macros for all memory related register. Signed-off-by: Juergen Beisert <jbe@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
* MACH SAMSUNG/S3C: Unify the UART driver for the S3C family of CPUsJuergen Beisert2012-01-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | The UART is one of the units which differs only slightly inside the S3C family. Prepare this driver to share it with more recent CPUs. Signed-off-by: Juergen Beisert <jbe@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
* MACH SAMSUNG/S3C: Use the correct CPU family name to reflect NAND driver's usageJuergen Beisert2012-01-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | The aready existing NAND controller driver in Barebox is for the S3C24XX family only. Change the name of the file to reflect this fact (and free the way to add more recent Samsung NAND controllers) Signed-off-by: Juergen Beisert <jbe@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
* MACH SAMSUNG/S3C: Make it more generic for future updatesJuergen Beisert2012-01-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | Start with renaming files to share them in the S3C CPU family, Signed-off-by: Juergen Beisert <jbe@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
* introduce io.hSascha Hauer2011-09-221-1/+1
| | | | | | | To allow for some generic io accessors introduce io.h and use this instead of asm/io.h throughout the tree. Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
* ARM boards: move sdram setup before mmu setupSascha Hauer2011-08-011-5/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | | The new MMU setup will need SDRAM base addresses and sizes. For this reason convert the MMU enabled ARM boards: - move mem setup to mem_initcall. This is early but still makes sure that we already have the console available - move MMU setup in this initcall temporary as after the mmu_init will generic Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Jean-Christophe PLAGNIOL-VILLARD <plagnioj@jcrosoft.com>
* arm: introduce arm_add_mem_device to register dram deviceJean-Christophe PLAGNIOL-VILLARD2011-08-011-3/+1

* add a add_mem_device functionSascha Hauer2011-07-181-22/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | Add a helper function for boards to register their memory devices. This makes the board code smaller and also helps getting rid of map_base and struct memory_platform_data. And switch all of the memory to it Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Jean-Christophe PLAGNIOL-VILLARD <plagnioj@jcrosoft.com>

* S3C24xx/NFC: Consider correct NAND page size for boot.Juergen Beisert2011-03-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When booting from NAND, its important to know the correct page size. When the NAND is used as the boot source, four dedicated pins are used to configure the correct page size and address cycles. These pins can be read back in one of the NFC registers to parametrize the load function. This patch also extends the read routine to support more than four address cycles on demand. BTW: At least some mini2440s are misconfigured to use five address cycles for a NAND device that is known to need only four address cycles. In this case the vendor is at our side: This NAND simply ignores any additional address cycles than required.
