* consistently use the same bitops.h fileSascha Hauer2014-07-171-13/+17
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We have many variants of the same bitops.h file. Consistently use the same file for all architectures which completely use the generic bitops versions. Some architectures had static inline versions of functions identically to the generic versions, these are removed and the generic versions are used directly now. Also several architectures depend on the generic find_*_bit functions but didn't have the GENERIC_FIND_NEXT_BIT Kconfig option selected. This is added where needed. * x86: ns16550: Rework driver to allow for x86 I/O spaceMichel Stam2014-04-094-41/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | The current implementation fakes a memory-mapped I/O device at 0x3f8 and 0x2f8, then uses platform read/write functions to do the actual reading and writing. These platform functions only exist for the x86 platform; better to move the I/O routines into the driver and have the driver request I/O ports using request_ioport_region. * arch/x86: fix link with recent gccThomas Petazzoni2013-11-111-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Due to unwind tables being generated by recent versions of gcc by default, the x86 Barebox link fails with: ld: section .eh_frame loaded at [00000000000197c4,000000000001f31f] overlaps section .barebox_initcalls loaded at [00000000000197c4,0000000000019833] Passing -fno-unwind-tables -fno-asynchronous-unwind-tables avoids this problem. * Set model and hostname at boardlevelSascha Hauer2013-08-162-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | With multiboard support the compiletime generated BOARDINFO string gets more and more meaningless. This removes it from Kconfig and replaces it with a variable that can be set at boardlevel. Also many boards have a standard setting for the hostname in the environment. This patch also moves the standard to C code by calling barebox_set_hostname(). Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>

| * Makefile: generate a barebox-flash-image linkSascha Hauer2012-08-121-5/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Depending on the SoC a barebox.bin, barebox.netx, barebox.s5p, MLO image is generated. With pbl support there now is an additional arch/arm/pbl/zbarebox.bin image. To help the user to determine which image should be flashed to his device, generate a barebox-flash-image link. | * blackfin, mips, openrisc, ppc, sandbox, x86: add generic dma_alloc, dma_free ↵Marc Kleine-Budde2012-06-301-0/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | inlines Some drivers call dma_inv_range() on buffers, on arm these buffers must be cache line aligned. This patch introduces a generic dma_alloc, dma_free. Archs can implement in their own functions in "asm/dma.h" and add a: #define dma_alloc dma_alloc #define dma_free dma_free On all other archs the generic versions, which translate into xmalloc and free are used. | * Only pass -P to cpp when generating ld scriptsLoïc Minier2011-10-181-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When building sandbox with ccache, one would hit warnings such as: warning: 'struct mmsghdr' declared inside parameter list on random files; a way to reproduce this issue is to build a simple file doing just: #include <sys/socket.h> int main(void) { return 0; } gcc -Wall -P -c -o foo foo.c But actually the -P flag is only useful when generating non-C files, such as linker scripts in the case of barebox. Removing the -P flag from all the gcc invocations, except when generating .lds files makes the warning go away. It turns out that this is what linux/scripts/Makefile.build also does nowadays.
