* mtd: rawnand: Move platform_nand_xxx definitions out of rawnand.hBoris Brezillon2018-10-031-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | platform_nand_xxx definitions are just used by the plat_nand driver. Let's move those definitions out of the core/driver-agnostic rawnand.h header. Signed-off-by: Boris Brezillon <boris.brezillon@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Miquel Raynal <miquel.raynal@bootlin.com>
* mtd: rawnand: Create a legacy struct and move ->IO_ADDR_{R, W} thereBoris Brezillon2018-10-031-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | We regularly have new NAND controller drivers that are making use of fields/hooks that we want to get rid of but can't because of all the legacy drivers that we might break if we do. So, instead of removing those fields/hooks, let's move them to a sub-struct which is clearly documented as deprecated. We start with the ->IO_ADDR_{R,W] fields. * mtd: rawnand: plat_nand: Pass a nand_chip object to all platform_nand_ctrl hooksBoris Brezillon2018-10-031-11/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Let's make the raw NAND API consistent by patching all helpers and hooks to take a nand_chip object instead of an mtd_info one or remove the mtd_info object when both are passed. In order to do that, we first need to update the platform_nand_ctrl hooks to take a nand_chip object instead of an mtd_info. We add temporary plat_nand_xxx() wrappers to the do the mtd -> chip conversion, but those will be dropped when patching nand_chip hooks to take a nand_chip object. * mtd: nand: Rename nand.h into rawnand.hBoris Brezillon2017-08-131-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We are planning to share more code between different NAND based devices (SPI NAND, OneNAND and raw NANDs), but before doing that we need to move the existing include/linux/mtd/nand.h file into include/linux/mtd/rawnand.h so we can later create a nand.h header containing all common structure and function prototypes. It has been a tremendous amount of cleanup and refactoring by a huge number of people, and creation of several new (and major) subsystems to better abstract out all the platform details in an appropriate manner. The bulk of this branch is a large patchset from Arnd that brings several of the more minor and older platforms we have closer to multiplatform support. Among these are MMP, S3C64xx, Orion5x, mv78xx0 and realview Much of this is moving around header files from old mach directories, but there are also some cleanup patches of debug_ll (lowlevel debug per-platform options) and other parts. Linus Walleij also has some patchs to clean up the older ARM Realview platforms by finally introducing DT support, and Rob Herring has some for ARM Versatile which is now DT-only. Both of these platforms are now multiplatform. Finally, a couple of patches from Russell for Dove PMU, and a fix from Valentin Rothberg for Exynos ADC, which were rebased on top of the series to avoid conflicts" * tag 'armsoc-multiplatform' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (75 commits) ARM: realview: don't select SMP_ON_UP for UP builds ARM: s3c: simplify s3c_irqwake_{e,}intallow definition ARM: s3c64xx: fix pm-debug compilation iio: exynos-adc: fix irqf_oneshot.cocci warnings ARM: realview: build realview-dt SMP support only when used ARM: realview: select apropriate targets ARM: realview: clean up header files ARM: realview: make all header files local ARM: no longer make CPU targets visible separately ARM: integrator: use explicit core module options ARM: realview: enable multiplatform ARM: make default platform work for NOMMU ARM: debug-ll: move DEBUG_LL_UART_EFM32 to correct Kconfig location ARM: defconfig: use correct debug_ll settings ARM: versatile: convert to multi-platform ARM: versatile: merge mach code into a single file ARM: versatile: switch to DT only booting and remove legacy code ARM: versatile: add DT based PCI detection ARM: pxa: mark ezx structures as __maybe_unused ARM: pxa: mark raumfeld init functions as __maybe_unused ...
| * ARM: orion5x: clean up mach/*.h headersArnd Bergmann2015-12-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is a simple move of all header files that are no longer included by anything else from the include/mach directory to the platform directory itself as preparation for multiplatform support. The mach/uncompress.h headers are left in place for now, and are mildly modified to be independent of the other headers. They will be removed entirely when ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM gets enabled and they become obsolete. Rather than updating the path names inside of the comments of each header, I delete those comments to avoid having to update them again, should they get moved or copied another time. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init() function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Recall the recently added prefix requirements: * "NAND_" for flags in nand.h, used in nand_chip.options * "NAND_BBT_" for flags in bbm.h, used in nand_chip.bbt_options or in nand_bbt_descr.options Thus, I am changing NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT to NAND_BBT_USE_FLASH. | * mtd: nand: consolidate redundant flash-based BBT flagsBrian Norris2011-09-111-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch works with the following three flags from two headers (nand.h and bbm.h): (1) NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT (nand.h) (2) NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT_NO_OOB (nand.h) (3) NAND_BBT_NO_OOB (bbm.h) These flags are all related and interdependent, yet they were in different headers. Flag (2) is simply the combination of (1) and (3) and can be eliminated. This patch accomplishes the following: * eliminate NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT_NO_OOB (i.e., flag (2)) * move NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT (i.e., flag (1)) to bbm.h It's important to note that because (1) and (3) are now both found in bbm.h, they should NOT be used in the "nand_chip.options" field. I removed a small section from the mtdnand DocBook because it referes to NAND_USE_FLASH_BBT in nand.h, which has been moved to bbm.h. * [ARM] orion5x: ts78xx make more bulletproof the RTC load/unload codeAlexander Clouter2009-02-241-8/+14
| | | | | | | | | | Added checks to the platform_device_(register|add) calls so that if a device failed to load it would then not later be unloaded; also added the hooks so that it would not try to unload when the RTC driver support is compiled out. * [ARM] orion5x: TS-78xx support for 'hotplug' of FPGA devicesAlexander Clouter2009-02-061-55/+196
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | the FPGA on the TS-7800 provides access to a number of devices and so we have to be careful when reprogramming it. As we are effectively turning a bus off/on we have to inform the kernel that it should stop using anything provided by the FPGA (currently only the RTC however the NAND, LCD, etc is to come) before it's reprogrammed. Once reprogramed, we can tell the kernel to (re)enable things by checking the FPGA ID against a lookup table for what a particular FPGA bitstream can provide. * [ARM] orion5x: remove TS-78xx NOR support as it does not existAlexander Clouter2009-02-061-46/+0
| | | | | | | | The TS-7800's M25P40 is not available to the kernel, it's used to load the initial bitstream onto the FPGA and so these hooks point to nothing and need to be removed. Signed-off-by: Alexander Clouter <alex@digriz.org.uk>
* mv643xx_eth: remove force_phy_addr fieldLennert Buytenhek2008-09-051-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently, there are two different fields in the mv643xx_eth_platform_data struct that together describe the PHY address -- one field (phy_addr) has the address of the PHY, but if that address is zero, a second field (force_phy_addr) needs to be set to distinguish the actual address zero from a zero due to not having filled in the PHY address explicitly (which should mean 'use the default PHY address'). If we are a bit smarter about the encoding of the phy_addr field, we can avoid the need for a second field -- this patch does that. Signed-off-by: Lennert Buytenhek <buytenh@marvell.com>
