Note that all references to ->major and ->first_minor outside of block layer is used to determine devt of the disk (the part0) and as ->major and ->first_minor will continue to represent devt for the disk, converting these users aren't strictly necessary. However, convert them for consistency. * Implement disk_max_parts() to avoid directly deferencing genhd->minors. * Update bdget_disk() such that it doesn't assume consecutive minor space. * Move devt computation from register_disk() to add_disk() and make it the only one (all other usages use the initially determined value). This happened due to incorrect cleanup if creating a ccwgroup device failed because the ccw devices were already grouped. Fix this by setting cdev[i] to NULL in the error handling of ccwgroup_create_from_string() after we give up our reference and by checking if the driver_data points to the ccwgroup device in ccwgroup_release() just to be really sure. Current storage servers ignore the obsolete bytes, but older models fail to execute the command and report an incorrect length error. This causes the device initilization for these devices to fail. To fix this problem we need to correct the dasd_psf_prssd_data structure and shorten it to the correct length. ERROR: "max_pfn" [drivers/s390/kvm/kvm_virtio.ko] undefined! ERROR: "vmem_remove_mapping" [drivers/s390/kvm/kvm_virtio.ko] undefined! The virtio transport only works with kvm guest support and only as a builtin. Lets change the build process of drivers/s390/kvm/kvm_virtio.c to depend on kvm guest support, which is also a bool. CONFIG_S390_GUEST already selects CONFIG_VIRTIO, that should prevent CONFIG_S390_GUEST=y CONFIG_VIRTIO=n situations.
