| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Being able to free the live device tree seemed like a good idea in the early days of device tree support when the first boards were brought up. It turned out to be illusory that noone stores pointers to the live tree which become invalid when oftree -f is executed. Enough people stumbled upon crashed boards with this option, so remove it finally. Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | So far we can only force legacy boot using ATAGs by executing 'oftree -f'. Said command is going away as often this command is not safe to call. Add an alternative way using the global.bootm.boot_atag environment variable. | * | | | | mtd: gpmi-nand: Make sure clock is disabled during rate changeSascha Hauer2018-07-062-2/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | On i.MX6 GPMI Nand controller the clock must be disabled during a rate change. Otherwise glitches on the clock line may occur which result in errors like: MXS NAND: Error sending command MXS NAND: DMA read error There were previous attempts to fix this. One is in: 54961378f0 imx6: clk: Gate off ENFC clock before setting clock rate This patch added a clk_disable() right before the rate change. Since a clk_disable() on a disabled clk is a no-op, the patch added a clk_enable() to the i.MX6 clk driver in the hope that the clk is enabled in the nand driver probe and the clk_disable() really takes place. This patch doesn't work. First of all it enabled the enfc_podf clk which was not the one that was actually disabled in the nand driver, resulting in the nand drivers call to clk_disable() still being a no-op. Then this patch also only works only on the classic i.MX6 which was the only one supported at that time, but not on the i.MX6UL, i.MX6SX and i.MX6SL which have a separate clk driver. Instead of adding more quirks to the other i.MX6 clk drivers, fix this in the GPMI driver. We no longer call clk_disable() on a disabled clk, but instead do a clk_enable() first which makes sure the hardware state is synchronized to the usage count and the following clk_disable() is really effective. At the same time we can (and actually must) remove the quirk in the i.MX6 clk driver. Also add clk_disable()/clk_enable() around another rate change in the GPMI driver. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Change is_timeout() to sample current time before invoking poller infrascructure to avoid occasional false timeout conditions. Consider the following timeout loop (can be found in wait_on_timeout): while (!(condition)) { if (is_timeout(...)) { return -ETIMEDOUT; } } ... in the original logic of is_timeout() it was possible to end up in the following situation: 1. Immediate check of of "condition" yeilds false (not enough time for it to become true has passed yet) 2. is_timeout is called which, in turn, calls poller_call() 3. All registerd pollers take more than specified timeout time to execute. 4. Sometime during poller_call() "contition" becomes true 5. As a result of #3 is_timeout() returns "true" 6. Code bails out with -ETIMEDOUT early even though timeout condition didn't really occur. One concrete example of this problem was discovered on ZII RDU1 board (poller_call() is long due to a serdev) when doing large data transfers over SPI to attached DataFlash chip. This commit changes is_timeout() to sample the value of time before calling poller_call(). This way first call to is_timeout() will almost always return false thus checking the condition at least twice before declaring a timeout. Until now we only kept a dos partition table over the update. Beginning with i.MX8 we may also want to preserve a GPT, so we have to extend the preserved area. It might also be the case that not (only) a partition table is stored in the initial area of a device, but also other unrelated data, so it's better to just keep the initial area that is unused by the i.MX ROM. It's also good to export the flag to allow boards to specify the initial area shall be preserved. When a board wants to set the flag for a mtd like device then it has to check for suitable erase sizes beforehand. We do not check this (yet). Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>

In linux, chipidea driver supports 'maximum-speed' device tree property. When that is set to "full-speed", driver sets PFSC bit in PORTSC register, which disallows use of high speed mode. This patch implements same support for barebox. Important technical detail is that PFSC bit is cleared by port reset, thus setting it has to be done in ehci->init() callback which is called after ehci_reset(). | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is a minimal port of a kernel commit 6552d3141064 ("backlight: Add RAVE SP backlight driver"). All of the changes were kept to a minimum and limited to impedance matching between Barebox/Linux driver API. This watchdog is currently not used, therefore mux its control pins as pull-downs to be sure that the watchdog is disabled after e.g. a reboot. For debug purposes this patch also adds i2c1 node.
